My Story Section I began working as a private equity firm after college. My role in my first month was mostly paper-pushing in the administrative department. It wasn’t an ideal position, and by June, I found an opportunity to transition into client services where I worked on high-end cases. I started performing well, getting positive feedbacks, and gradually progressing within the company hierarchy. Professionally speaking, by late June 2018, my senior leaders believed I was ready for my next career milestone, a partnership in the law division at our private equity firm. However, something was rotten in Denmark. My senior partner, the one who I had supported throughout our successful years in our investment portfolio was terminated in August. My colleagues were stunned and saddened, and I could see my own prospects dwindle right before my eyes. By September, I faced investigation from our compliance team for suspicious activities leading up to that time; all my effort in those weeks was fruitful when compared with a couple months later, when my professional life turned sour.

## My Opinion: A Lawyer’s Take On defending Employee Fraud Claims: Pros, Cons & Best Practices from Karachi I think it’s safe to say every organization experiences employee fraud cases. Whether a cashier stealing inventory or an accountant hiding embezzlement activities, fraud cases cause major trust issues in workspaces – for clients, colleagues, bosses. As attorneys with years under our belts, a question that’s frequently raised at our Legal Shark law office is “Can my client legally defend against an employee fraud claim?” If anything, it requires solid, strategic approach for a lawyer in a high-stakes court battle. To build the right case strategy, a thorough understanding of the situation would be the first step – a process that starts by gathering as much information as we can about the incident, like video footage or employee confession statements. Then, I’ll analyze each piece of evidence for any errors, contradictions, or inconsistencies. If an error is found, that piece of evidence may not actually count against the fraud defendant; I could present that error in court to discredit the prosecutor’s narrative entirely, thereby undermining their case. 10 percent of employees surveyed might be guilty of thefts like shoplifting or cheating. This can cause a significant fall-off in productivity if the employees aren’t found out quickly enough or the crime wasn’t done for very long.

As you are going through your legal consulting clients or during legal court proceedings on fraudulent acts; many companies are dealing with allegations. They are worried that their employees could face criminal charges because they suspected the worker was caught engaged. They also want to keep customers safe in case fraudulent activity went on, making it an ethical decision for the employers. In recent times there has been the case in question in the Karachi, it’s all too true and people want a quick way to get the matter solved without getting the truth. But we know we cannot solve that by denying or over-promising it and I understand the serious consequences of this fraud cases. The situation has put the lawyer into trouble as the main defender. A lawyer can argue that some of them are honesty cases when some of them aren’t honest. However, if I cannot argue for the honesty of my client when they had no intention of stealing anything or they weren’t even present during the incident in questions. I know this will hurt my personal credibility because it gives the opposite of my client and in this way; they trust me.
